Life moves too damn fast to be waiting for the next opportunity to come, why wait? Most of the time people are scared to grab onto these because they’re nervous, or they doubt themselves, they want to get better before they get there,or social conformity has them second guessing but just TRY, the worse that can happen is getting rejected!!!Rejection will only pull you down if you let it. It all comes down to your attitude towards it.
Since March 2020 I have wasted a lot of time and I kept blaming it on “COVID” but that isn’t fair, it’s just one of the excuses I’m sure most of you have used this past year BUT I know so many people who have found ways to be creative and productive and have done so many things out of the box that its high time I get back on the horse, and so should you.
One of my biggest inspirations is my best friend, Aanchal Sheth. In the midst of the strictest lockdown when you couldn’t leave your house or pretty much do anything she calls me one day and casually tells me how she is writing a storybook for kids, with Sanitary pads as the main character to remove the taboo that kids these days have. It is something so small, but so so thoughtful and the perfect example of how if you wanted to, you would.
I have missed a lot of chances in school, be it because of procrastination or self – doubt but in time i’ve learnt never to let them go and so shouldn’t you. I know way too many people living in their past and drowning in regret. Most of the times it takes just one simple text to apologise, one hello to start a romance, one application away from your dream job, don’t let your hopes and dreams fade away because of judgement and fear.
I watched a movie a while back where the protagonist said that whenever he was too scared to make a decision all he would do is count 3…2…1 and DO IT! Dont give your brain the chance to over think your decisions, Follow your gut and COUNT AWAY!!
